Thanks to the lovely olithered who was willing to sign a photograph to tell the government I actually am who I say I am, and have been for two years, I now have a UK provisional license. This means I can get my butt in gear about taking the theory and the practical exams before I'm supposed to stop driving on my US license (June).

Oh, that said, I quit taking my manual driving lessons on the grounds that it was stressing me out too bad. I'm just going to sit the practical and then get an automatic only license.

That's kind of too bad, as I was getting the hang of the manual car. I'm thinking I'll go back and get the full license once I have the ability to drive over here. I just think it's too much for me to realistically have the time to get test-ready in a manual by June, and I absolutely don't want to lose the ability to drive.
