Saw Spiderman 3 with Branden tonight. I'd been hearing all week about how it was "the best of the Spiderman movies", so I really went into it with high hopes.
I thought it had /terrible/ camera work and CGI. The camerawork was so shaky in some scenes it gave me motion sickness - I think it was an attempt to really draw the viewer into the action, but I (and Branden) found it to be really distracting.
In addition, in some of the fight scenes they had them and the animation moving so fast we literally couldn't tell what was going on. It was dark, the view switched all around in a million angles, and the characters just kept hitting each other and flying around hitting walls. It was not impressive.
The storyline was pretty good, nice characters/villains.
Peter Parker irritated the /shit/ out of me the whole movie. This is not an ideal characteristic of a main character. He just acted so /stupid/.
Then, at the very last, they maimed... and then killed off the only halfway decent looking male specimen in the movie (I'm sorry, but Toby Maguire is /not/ attractive. He's kind of creepy looking).
All in all, I was not overly impressed.
